Is JLPT Academy free?
Yes. The app is free to download on iPhone and Android. An optional Premium subscription is available in the app.
Which JLPT levels does the app cover?
All five levels: N5, N4, N3, N2 and N1.
Are the questions similar to the real JLPT?
Yes. Questions follow the formats of the official test sections, from vocabulary and kanji to grammar, reading and listening. Mock exams combine them like the real test.
Can I test my kanji level?
Yes. Kanji quizzes for your level ask for readings in the same format as the kanji questions on the JLPT, and your success rate shows which kanji to review before the exam.
Is there a full JLPT practice test?
Yes. Mock exams combine vocabulary, kanji, grammar, reading and listening questions like the real test, so you can check if you are ready.
Can I study offline?
Yes. You can keep practicing without an internet connection, for example on the train or while traveling.

When is the JLPT held?
The JLPT usually takes place twice a year, on the first Sunday of July and December. Some countries only hold it once a year, so check the dates with your local test center.
